About the artist

What is the nature of reality? What is our purpose in this lifetime? What exactly are dreams trying to tell us? As an artist, these are interesting questions that inspire my creative proces. There is a vast world in our unconscious mind to be discovered, filled with amazing ideas and symbols. Painting helps me to bring them to the surface, so I can view it as an image and contemplate what it means. I believe that art, much like poetry or music, has the potential to serve as a healing tool to discover our human potential and increase a sense of well being.

My name is Wesley, i'm a visual artist from the Netherlands currently living in Melbourne, Australia. After working in graphic and visual design for 5 years, I decided to carve my own path and start my fulltime artistic journey. For over 4 years, my art has been focused on creating work that is deeply inspired by spiritual and mystical experiences through meditation, contemplation and life experiences.
